Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey’s Early Grade Literacy program is a literacy initiative designed for children in kindergarten through third grade. Early Grade Literacy helps young students develop the skills and attitudes necessary to become proficient readers through literacy-based enrichment activities designed to make reading fun while building critical skills. Girls Inc. provides literacy support programming to over 350 students at schools in Philadelphia and Camden, the Friend’s Center and at women’s shelters.
