Meet Safiyyah, Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey senior, 2020 Girls Inc. National Scholar and recipient of the $20,000 Lucile Miller Wright scholarship.

Safiyyah is a senior at George Washington Carver High School for Engineering and Science. She began her Girls Inc. experience over six years ago through a STEM program hosted at the University of Pennsylvania. Safiyyah plans to major in civil engineering and applied mathematics and minor in economics and engineering management to fulfill her dream of becoming a civil engineer. She is serving her third year as captain of the Gear Girls FTC Robotics Team, is a member of the National Honor Society and the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program. She is also a peer tutor in Physics, Algebra, Precalculus and AP Calculus and a Girls Inc. mentor to 7th graders.
